A massive room, about three stories high, filled floor to ceiling with books. Ladders and twisting staircases lead ever upward to get to the higher rooms and shelves. There are an assortment of chairs and couches scattered about to accommodate the readers. There is even a nice area with a desk for writing.

When Adeonis was little, the library used to be a place of comfort and adventure. She would fly through the ladders and fence her little brothers up the stairways and on rainy days, she would find a comfy chair and a good book and spend the hours reading with a cup of hot chocolate. The library was her second favorite room in the whole house. Now it held no more adventure, and there was no more comfort to be found there than anywhere else in the house. She paced along a shelf, running her fingers over the bindings looking for the book she wanted, a dull book full of history and fact without any stories or interesting characters to speak of. When she found her book, she pulled it off the shelf and stared at it reproachfully.

Narnia stood back a ways near the door, her brown bangs falling about her face, framing it nicely. Silver eyes glinted oddly in the light from the lamps and the windows. Libraries held nothing for her. Though she was named after a fairytale land, fairytales were for people, or so she felt. Satellites had nothing to do with fiction. Books were meant for learning things when tutors could not be readily available. She knew not of her master's inner torture, nor would she be able to relate to it. Desires for peace and tranquility inside another world were a mystery to her.

"Come here, Narnia," Adeonis called out to her companion. Friend? The case could be made that Adeonis and Narnia were friends, but the satellite didn't feel like a friend to the werehawk queen. She felt more like a shadow with a gun. That's how it was. She waved the book she held in the air as she began scanning the shelves for the next book.

Narnia practically glided as she crossed the floor soundlessly to stand a pace behind Adeonis. She really was a shadow with a gun. Or a sword sometimes. Usually both. Today jut a gun. "Yes, master?" she asked softly, though she did not think an address was necessary.

Adeonis reached behind her, holding the book out to Narnia. Her eyes didn't leave the shelf as she scanned, brows furrowed, for the title she needed. "Hold this." In public, we was always sure to be polite to Narnia, say please and thank you, but in private, it wasn't necessary. The satellite would do as she told her to and in the end, she wasn't even sure Narnia cared.

With gentle hands, Narnia took the book held out to her and held it close to her body, expecting that there would soon be a stack in her arms before her master was through. Adeonis had always been a reader for as long as Narnia had known her. She had no complaints. Ever. And the serenity of a silent read in a high back chair while she stood dutifully in the corner was a nice enough break from all the hustle and bustle of the court life.

Adeonis found her next title and held it out to Narnia silently. And the same for the next and the next. The fifth book she pulled off the wall she kept. That was all she could possibly hope to read. She walked slowly back along the shelf and down one of the spiral stair cases. She didn't tell Narnia to follow her and she didn't have to.

No she did not. Narnia was on her heels, or rather trailing in her wake like a second shadow. She never crowded Adeonis out. It was enough that she stuck to her master's side like glue. Adeonis did not need to be stifled by that fact. She glanced at the titles briefly, recalling their varied contents. Knowing that her Highness did not like her to be so stiff and somber all the time, Narnia ventured, "any particular reason for this reading today, master?"

"I think I'll need it," Adeonis said quietly. She was lost in thought but she pulled herself into the present enough to give Narnia a slight approving smile. She walked to one of the armchairs scattered around the library and motioned towards a nearby table. "It's been a long time since I took history."

Narnia set the books on the nearby table. Tearing her eyes from the covers and their intriguing titles, she went to stand quietly nearby. No sense talking anymore since Adeonis was going to be reading. She folded her hands and let them hang in front of her, eyes turned down to the floor.

"You can sit if you want," Adeonis told Narnia quietly as she opened her first book, but she didn't look up to see whether the satellite actually had. It was common courtesy because she knew that she would be there for a while, but it wasn't like she would insist upon it. The satellites knew their jobs and did them well without interference.

Narnia did so, sitting down quietly in a high back chair with some sort of red-gold upholstery that made the comfy cushion seem so old fashioned. She rather liked the peace of the library even if it meant she was to remain idle. Sometimes Adeonis would let her go read a book or something, but Narnia hardly did so of her own volition. She felt it was rude to just move off and do something while her master expected her to be ready at a second's notice to attend to her, wether for security or personal reasons. Narnia preferred being ready and on hand anyway.

Adeonis kicked off her shoes and tucked her feet under her in the fluffy library chair. It would hardly be appropriate behavior if there was anyone else around to see besides Narnia, but the library was empty. She curled up and steadily read through her book. She was nearly through the second book in her stack when she began to lose focus. With a sigh, she snapped the book closed and put her feet back on the floor. She stood up slowly and turned to look at Narnia. "Are you hungry?"

She had been thinking things through in her head, not moving at all from her perfect, seated posture and position. She let her mind wander only enough to review things. No point passing the time with a blank mind when she could keep herself engaged with something. So she ran through battle plans, training moves, skills, etcetera all through her mind. She was still paying attention to things around her, but she let part of her mind be occupied enough to think a while. When Adeonis asked her a question, she replied immediately. "I will eat if you are." It was her typical response.
