This is the SEC headquarters where the owner of the exchange lives and works from. The main hall of Centre House is where the Satellites are presented before the buyers.

Deniz entered the Centre House, and waited by the front door uncertainly. He didn't call out, knowing that since he was expected he'd be spoken to when needed. He held his arms behind his back tightly, one hand wrapped around his wrist tightly.

The door was eventually opened, and one of the workers ushered Deniz in. There were a few other Satellites there as well. "A buyer is coming down today," the manager said while the workers got all the Satellites in a line. "One of you will be leaving her an Assigned Satellite. This is a big day for you, so do your best to impress."

Deniz let out the breath he hadn't been aware he had been holding. Only a buyer. That wasn't something to worry about too much compared to being punished. He nodded, showing he understood. He wondered who the buyer was, but he'd just have to wait until the came buyer. He wasn't sure how he was going to impress them though. Being the only one of his kind among the group being presented might help.

When the doors next opened, Fino stepped into the house. He vaguely remembered a time long ago when he had been here before. But that was a long, long time ago. Putting those thoughts aside, he turned his focus to the line of waiting Satellites. With careful steps, he approached them. The manager greeted him and talked with him: all frivolous formalities that went in one ear and out the other. He merely nodded and said 'yes' or 'no' when appropriate. He was more interested in getting on with the choosing of the Satelites. "What's this one?" "A polar bear. He's young, but perfectly malliable. Hardly afraid of anything." "Too young. I need something with bit more experience." "As you say." "I don't like the look of those two. And I thought I said I didn't want females." "Oh, I jsut thought I'd throw one in anyway. She's perfect for travelling. Hardy and tough. A Werecrocodile." "I hardly go near water. She'd dry out. I said no females altogether." He finally looked at the three remaining. "What's this one's name?" "Name? Oh, his name is Deniz Sesnan." "Sesnan... so he's been here a long time then." "Indeed." "And what is he?" "A Wereahklut." Fino grimaced. "I assume you set him here so you could get the most pay out of him? Is he set out here for all your buyers or just we wealthy ones?"

Deniz stood straight along with the others, staring straight ahead of him. Compared to the others he was much too scrawny, too pale looking or too short. Hearing that the buyer was Fino Throk, a Werehawk, he thought Enethar would have been the best choice, but he kept his mouth shut. He glanced between Fino and the manager.

The manager didn't say anything. "Thought so," Fino said dryly. He looked at Deniz with a rather... cruel look. Something uncommon in his usually calm eyes. His gaze raked all over the Satellite as if he was nothing more than scum filled filth. "Pathetic," he said lowly, so low it was barely audible. He circled the Satellite as a hawk circles prey. So natural. "Do you even feed them anymore?" "We had a tough winter." Fino bit back a nasty remark. "What are you charging?" "Twenty thousand." "That's debatable." Fino retorted. "I'll give you ten." "That's half the fee!" "It's all he's worth. He may be a Myth, but he's also skin and bones. You better hope he even makes it to the car without falling over with what I'm paying you." "You underestimate him." "Maybe. But I don't like to hold high expectations for things like this. Ten thousand. That's my offer. Try selling him elsewhere for even five, I dare you." The manager grumbled something under his breath. "Come into my office. We'll negotiate." Fino glared a momnt, then followed the manager out of the room. After maybe half an hour, they finally came out of the office. Fino ended up spending fifteen thousand, but at least he came out on top.

Deniz had had the urge to look back at the Werehawk, but he averted his gaze. He relaxed once the pair left into the manager's office, but only for a bit. He grew tense when they returned, and looked straight ahead again, waiting to be told what to do.

The manager looked at the Satellites. "Everyone leave." Then he pointed at Deniz. "You! Stay."

Deniz stayed, watching the others ones leave before he looked back at the manager. He had been bought?

"Come forward, Deniz," the manager said. Fino just stared Deniz down, as if this was an enemy he was facing and not his new guardian slave.

Deniz did as he was told, aware that he was being stared at, but he currently kept his gaze on the manager.

"This is Fino Throk. He is your master, Deniz. Now, both of you, hold out your hands." Fino held out his left hand. "Your right hand." Fino held out his right hand. "Oh, you've done one of these before I see," the manager said. "What happened?" "My Satellite died. Hence this replacement. Can we get on with it?"

Deniz glanced at Fino. He held out his right hand as well. It wasn't an overly comforting thought that the other Satellite had died, but it happened.

The manager pulled out curved dagger and cut both of their palms, then pressed their hands together. "By this blood seal and the spirits that witness, I bind Deniz Sesnan to Fino Throk, to serve and protect, to fight for and to die for." He let go of their hands. "The bind is complete. Congratulations on your new Satellite. I hope he works out well for you." Fino just nodded stiffly. "We're leaving," he said to Deniz, then brushed past him and headed for the door.
