Garaveth had followed after the doctors inside with Adrian, hoping the ones outside could help the red dragon. She made sure to stay out of the way, not wanting to be in the doctors' way as they worked. She soon sat in a chair in the corner of the room out of the way and slowly drifted to sleep. She rested in the chair until she heard rustling and movement nearby in the bed. Her light colored eyes slowly blinked open and she looked over to Adrian. For the time being he was the only one she had to watch until she was told the red dragon was alright and awake. Her brows furrowed as she watched the boy scratch and pull at the tape that hold the IV in place. She quickly stood and walked to his side, placing her hands on his. She stopped his scratching and told him in a soft voice, "Don't do that, you need those."

Kieran was sleeping soundly in the other room, thanks partially to the injuries themselves, thanks partially to hat meager drugs they could manage to pump into his system. The doctors had left both brothers be by now and went on their own breaks since they had been up all night. There was a nurse on duty, but otherwise the place was kind of empty. Haruka came in and started talking to the nurse and then went and relayed some things to the guards. He didn’t seem in a hurry to check on the brothers.

So intent had Adrian been on his efforts to sit up and remove the IV that he hadn’t noticed there had been anyone else in the room with him. “No I don’t,” he snapped, when hands were placed on his. He jerked away from her touch as if her hands were poisonous. His fingers still fumbled with the tape weakly, and he kept his narrowed eyes on the other weredragon. “I’m fine. I don’t need this sticking into me anymore.” Of course he knew it was all a lie, but he wasn’t about to admit he needed the blood or the other fluids. Grumbling under his breath, he slid back down into bed slowly, managing to roll over and give the older Were his back after a few tries. Tugging out one of the pillows from under his head he hugged it tightly, closing his eyes. Under the sheets his fingers continued to pick at the tape though for the time being he had given up that he actually would manage removing the IV until he was better. He flinched, and rubbed his forehead with the back of his hand. Once the pain had subsided slightly, his hand drifted back down onto the bed and he fell asleep.

She flinched slightly as he jerked his hands away from her and let out a soft sigh as she watched him. He was too weak to pull the tape off and she knew that, though she didn't think it was a good idea that he even try to mess with them. She snorted at his comment and rolled her eyes at him as she crossed her arms over her chest. "If you were fine you would be able to sit up and take out the IV on your own with no problem. You are weak, you need your rest," She told him in almost a caring way. She soon let out another soft sigh as she watched him lay back down and turn his back to him. Though as she watched him her brow raised as he flinched and placed the back of his hand against his forehead. "Is your head hurting? I can get the doctor if you would like," She told him in a soft tone as she waited for his reply, glancing towards the door.

Adrian was in and out of consciousness, hearing bits and pieces of what was being said to him. "I'll rest better with you gone," he mumbled, his voice muffled by the pillow he clutched. It partly was the truth, but it was also another lie at the same time. Being the state he was in he would have fallen asleep even if the whole room was filled with strangers. Had he been himself he would have been too uncomfortable and on edge to fall asleep. His hazy mind briefly wondered whether or not there was something in the IV that made him sleepy, however that wasn't something he was going to figure out at the moment. His eyes flickered, his attempt to keep himself awake, but he lost the fight and drifted off.

Kieran's eyes opened wide. He took in a deep, gasping breath. There was white everywhere. There was something on his face. He was on fire. His whole chest felt crushed. He sat up suddenly, and rolled right out of the bed, hitting the floor with a loud slam and knocking over a machine. It barely missed his hip. He couldn't move all that much. His limbs felt sluggish and his body still felt constricted. Where the hell am I? Where is my brother? He felt his eyes sting, and his jaw clenched till he could feel his gums bleeding. Where the hell is he? I have to find him!

The pain drove Adrian out of his short sleep. He squirmed, moaning and rocking slightly. Wasn’t there going to be any relief from the pain? He couldn’t tell whether or not the pain medication was wearing off, but he was fairly certain he couldn’t feel any pain besides the one pounding in his skull. Opening his eyes slightly, everything looked too bright and blurry. He covered his head with the pillow he had been hugging, hoping that would block out the brightness. Hopefully it would go away and take the pain with it. The pillow did manage to block out the brightness of the room, but it did nothing to block out the beeping of the heart monitor. “Make it stop! Switch it off,” he cried, pushing down on the pillow. When Adrian felt he was gasping for breath he removed the pillow, thinking it was not allowing him to breathe properly. The beeping on the heart monitor grew erratic. He begun to panic as his breathing remained at gasps. There’s something wrong. What is it? Adrian scrambled to think of an answer, feeling himself laying back in the bed heavily. He clutched at his chest, over the area his pained heart continued to thump at an irregular beat. He struggled to keep his eyes open, seeing the brightness of the room begin to fade, hearing the beeping of the monitor steadily decrease, finding that it was a challenge to force air into his lungs. Was this what it was like to die? He’d give up, fade away, and then it was over? No....Lorcan's death wasn't like this. What about mother's death? Father's? Adrian's eyes closed and he couldn't get them open again. He didn't know any details about his parents deaths, but did it really matter now?

Garaveth let a soft sigh leave her lips at his words and shook her head slightly. What he didn't know was that she couldn't leave him alone, she had been order to guard him and that was what she was going to do. She then turned and walked back to the chain she had been sitting in. Once she made it to the chair she sat and watched the boy for a moment until he was asleep. As he slept she glanced out the window and did her best to hide another soft sigh. After sitting for a while she blinked at the sound of a commotion in the next room where the doctors had taken the other boy. She quickly stood and ran into the other room, her eyes blinking in surprise at the sight of him on the ground. She quickly made her way to his side and helped the boy up as she spoke, "You really need to be more careful if you plan on getting any better." Though as she was helping the boy up onto the bed she blinked at the sound of the heart monitor in Adrian's room and clenched her teeth in slight annoyance, too bad there weren't two of her. Once she got him up onto the bed she ran back into Adrian's room and to his side. "Please calm down, this is not good for your weak heart!" She exclaimed and as his heart beat began to slow she quickly hit the doctor's button to call them in to help.

Kieran tried to push Garaveth away when she was helping him up. Wherever she touched, he felt bursts of fire. But he was in no state to stop her. His attempts were feeble, and so he was moved around against his will. Then the sound too caught his attention, and she was suddenly gone. His own heart rate picked up, the monitor beeping unsteadily to reflect that. “Wait!” he called out after her. “Where’s my brother?” But she had already gone, and he was alone, listening to the machine in the next room beeping out chaotically, slowly. No… oh please no… That had to be Adrian. Had to be. Kieran tried to grab the bed but failed. He could hardly move his arms, and every twitch sent intense shocks of breathtaking pain through him. With a burst of determination, he lashed out and grabbed the bed and pulled himself up to his feet. He didn’t care about the pain. He just had to know what was happening to Adrian.
The nurse on duty rushed into Adrian’s room not a second after Garaveth reached over to push the button, probably alerted by the heart monitor’s irregular sounds. She paused briefly and paged the doctors to come as well. She checked the vitals, did a quick assessment, and came to the conclusion. He’s going comatose. She turned to Garaveth. “You’ll have to leave. We need to start operating if we’re going to give him a chance.” She grabbed some things out of a drawer in the nearby cart and injected an anesthetic into Adrian. Just moments later, the doctor came in, tugging on latex gloves. He looked haggard overall, but his eyes were bright. “What’s the situation?” “He’s got a brain bleed,” the nurse replied. “Swelling to the motor, sensory, and frontal lobes.” “Alright,” the doctor said, “get him to surgery and prep for a decompressive craniectomy. We need to stop the pressure building.” The nurse started grabbing wires and pulling the out and shutting off machines. The doctor helped her wheel the bed out to surgery, then he donned his surgical suit while the nurse got the room ready. One of the other doctors arrived, was briefed on the situation, and also got prepared.

Adrian was hardly aware of what was happening around him. Everything sounded dull and faded. He could barely make out the beeping of the machine anymore, and he faintly recognized the sounds of voices, though he didn’t know what they were saying. Had the pain gone too? Or was there someone doing something to keep him alive? Breathing became a chore, but he continued to push himself. One more breath, just one more. How long could he keep this going for? "I lost one baby brother, don't make me lose another." Why should I care when you are the one that killed the other one? Another breath. “We can get through anything. We are Draeyva. You are Draeyva. You have it in you to survive. Don’t give in to your fear.” How couldn't he give in to fear? One by one all the Draeyva were dying. Another breath.”Can you ever forgive me, Adrian? I feel like I killed you. Perhaps I did. You always had such a fragile heart. Now I broke it in a million pieces." Then his chest felt too heavy, and he couldn’t force anymore oxygen into his burning lungs. His heat thumped erratically, demanding the air he could no longer provide. It was the only movement he felt in his chest, until that movement was lost to him as he grew unconscious. His heart continued to beat, though it’s pace grew slowly and close to stopping completely.

"But I.." She began to protest but stopped and looked from the nurse to the boy. She let out a soft sigh and nodded her head slightly in understanding. She had to get out of the way so they could save him. She then turned and left the room, waiting outside the door. She began pacing up and down the hall as she watched doctors enter the room. She hoped they could help the boy, they helped his companion so they should be able to help him. Her bright eyes then blinked as she thought of his companion. She hesitantly walked towards his door and looked into the room, her eyes landing on his form. "A-are you alright?" She asked softly as she slowly entered the room. She had left the room so quickly she wasn't able to make sure he was alright or not.

Kieran had just stood there, shaking all over from the burning pain. he had managed to take small steps to the edge of the bed, all he could manage with the assistance of said bed. He looked up when Garaveth entered his room. "My brother... what's happening to him?" he demanded, his voice tinged with panic. He was still shaking, but more from the strain than the fear.
The doctors were quick and precise. They opened Adrian's skull to relieve the pressure. He was safe for now, from coma and death. They decided to keep doctors monitoring him in shifts in case something new came up.

Her bright gaze glanced back towards the door and she did her best to hide a soft sigh. "I-I'm not quite sure," She stuttered out as she began to speak but after a moment she gave him a weak but reassuring smile before she continued, "though I am sure he will be fine." So they were more than companions, they were brothers. She found that interesting after what the boy had said when they found them. She then approached the man and told him in a soft voice as she glanced to the bed, "You should lay down. It is not good for you to strain your body so right now."

Kieran was tempted to fight against her judgement, but he knew she was right. He collapsed on the bed and just lay there in a heap, staring at the wall. He hated how weak he felt in this moment. But it was something he simply could not help. His brother was over there and he was here, injured and grasping at threads to cling to. He still felt that haunting cold even though t no longer crawled into his soul. Absentmindedly, he started clawing at his heart.

The dark blue dragon landed outside of the clinic. Lowering himself slightly, a white dog jumped off his back and entered the clinic. Padding down the hall, it’s as if the animal knew where it was going. The dog peered into the older Draeyva’s room before continuing on to find the Were it came in search for. Padding into Adrian’s room, the dog stood on it’s hind legs, looking down at the broken boy before beginning to lick him. As the rest of the boy’s wounds begun to heal, the dog took a hold of the boy’s hand in it’s mouth. Biting down, the dog quickly licked at the wound for it to heal before it left the Were’s room. Leaving the clinic, the dog found the dragon had remained where he had landed. Going over to the dragon, the dog bit down on his fore-paw, licking at the bite and watching it heal. The dog stepped back and watched the Weredragon, hoping this was going to work. At first the Weredragon stared down at the dog blankly, eerily calm though he was just bitten by a dog with no explanation. He knew the dog was watching and waiting for something, but he didn’t know what that was. When a tingling fire flared up from the bite he shook his fore-paw, looking down at the dog as the sensation spread throughout the rest of his body. Along with the fire came an overwhelming sense of panic and emotion, all fixed on one person. Where was Adrian? Was he alright? Why was he here? The dragon glanced down at the dog before crouching by the clinic doors and peering inside. He couldn’t see his brother, but he could barely see anything else besides the front desk and the hallway. Screeching in frustration, the dragon moved around the clinic. Where were they hiding him? Pausing by a wall, and sniffing at it, the dragon begun to claw at it frantically. What separated him and his brother now was a wall and he wasn’t about to let it. Pulling the wall apart, the weredragon pushed his head through the gap he made. He froze when he saw Adrian on the bed. There were machines and other instruments he had never seen before, all hooked up to his twin, and none of it helped eased the panic clutching onto him. “Hey! What do you think you’re doing? You could use the doors like everyone else!” The weredragon stared at the doctor, and growled when he saw her enter the room. Looking to his brother and back to the doctor again, he saw her eyes narrow as well. “Don’t you even think about taking him. He’s still recovering from surgery and we need to monitor his vitals. Moving him now is too risky.” When he saw the doctor continue on into the room he pushed himself further into the room, leaning his long neck over Adrian. He bared his fangs in a silent threat, blocking the doctor from reaching his brother. “If you continue to interfere with our work I’m going to have to ask you to leave, and if you don’t I’ll get others that will force you to do so.” The doctor stared back at the weredragon evenly. The weredragon snorted, moving away slightly, and eying the doctor warily. Grumbling in the back of his throat, the dragon moved even more when the doctor came closer, but that’s when he saw Adrian was blinking slowly. He looked dazed, but he looked like he was going to be fine. “Lorcan?” Adrian rasped, blinking and trying to clear his blurry vision. With a nod, the dragon nuzzled Adrian’s side. Distractedly he found himself gnawing on the cast on his brother’s arm and stopped himself from continuing when he saw the doctor glaring at him. He lightly rested his head on Adrian’s lap. The panic had started to subside, but slowly other emotions replaced it, though these ones confused the weredragon. Fear? He wasn’t afraid, he was annoyed at the doctor but that was about it. “No…How? I saw him kill you. I was right there begging him not too. You weren’t moving anymore, you were lifeless, you were cold,” Adrian rambled, his tone growing hysterical. His wide eyed gaze searching the weredragon that now looming above him with his head tilted slightly. There weren’t any signs of death. The dragon’s eyes weren’t glazed, his neck wasn’t ripped open, and there weren’t any insects feeding off of his flesh. Adrian gripped his head in his shaking hands, his nails digging into his skin. Was this a cruel nightmare? One in which he was going to see Lorcan die all over again like he had seen his mother die in countless nightmares before? Lorcan was at a loss. He didn’t know how he could explain this; all he knew was that the white dog had something to do with it all. Snorting softly, he opened his jaws and took a hold of Adrian’s arm lightly, trying to pull it away and stop his brother from hurting himself. “Don’t touch me!” Adrian shouted, his eyes tightly shut and he curled up onto his side, “Go away and leave me alone.” The fear was overpowering and threatened to weigh him down, but Lorcan tried again. He saw the doctor’s lips moving, pointing at him and gesturing to the wall, but his focus was on Adrian. He nuzzled his brother again slowly, trying to get him to turn around and face him without using his jaws. Maybe Adrian was scared that he was going to bite him again? “Leave me alone, I don’t want to see this! Leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me alone….”Adrian begun to scream, his rushed repeated words became incoherent as he began to sob. The nightmare wasn’t going to leave him alone no matter how many times he told it too. The weredragon stared down at his brother, not sure what to do. He wanted to help Adrian, but Adrian wanted him to leave him alone. Looking away from his twin he saw the doctor was red in the face. It looked like she was yelling at him, but he couldn’t hear any of it. Who would want him if Adrian didn’t? He begun to back away, pulling his neck out of the room when he saw other doctors racing in the room and retrain Adrian as another doctor filled a syringe and prepared to inject his brother. “What are you doing? Why are you holding me down? Stop!” Adrian panicked, sobbing and struggling at the same time, but none of the doctors grips slackened. “This is just a sedative to help you calm down, Adrian. It’s nothing to worry about.” Adrian’s panic fueled Lorcan into action. With a roar the weredragon slammed into the wall, widening and hole and managing to fit a fore-leg into the room with him. He snatched the closest doctor with his claws, and pinned them underneath him. Lunging forwards, he sunk his fangs into another doctor’s shoulder and flung him out of the room. He growled, baring bloodied fangs at the rest of the doctors still retraining his twin. He heard yelling and other commotion outside of the room, something about the guards being needed, but he didn’t pay attention to them. If they weren’t going to leave his brother alone, he wasn’t going to leave Adrian alone with them. The dog was outside where the Weredragon had broken a hole into the clinic. Oma hadn’t expected it all to turn out like this. It was the spirit of Life, not the spirit of Chaos. The dog barked, trying to get the Weredragon’s attention and stop him before everything became worse. Ears pinning back for a moment, the dog ran and leaped onto the dragon’s tail, biting down with as much force as the animal could muster. Hearing a screech from inside the clinic, the dog was flung up into the air, still holding onto the dragon’s tail by it’s teeth before it was slammed down onto the ground and whipped into the wall. With a whine the dog crumpled down to the ground, struggling to get back up. “This is exactly what the creature you pity is. A lover of bloodshed and violence, even when you bind it to it’s brothers soul.” The dog shakily lifted it’s head up off of the ground, seeing the black cat sitting a few feet away. “I had no other choice than to try this, Akuji.” “Do not blame your poor decisions on me,” the cat growled, it’s pupils were slits, it’s ears flattened and it’s tail lashed. “This is the consequences of your own mistakes, not mine. I told you outright that I was not giving you it’s soul back. I did not trick you and withhold it from you afterwards.” “I couldn’t leave him soulless either. I couldn’t return him to his family like that. I may have been able to heal his wounds, to start his heart again…but a being without their soul is just as lifeless as the ones that rot in the ground.” “Rotting in the ground is where it should have stayed, Oma!”
