What am I when I am meaningless? What are you when you mean everything?

The streets are lined with very bright lamps so that people can see in snowstorms, but the brightness is dimmed on bright but cloudy days.

(for the purpose of time management, I am posting all posts from the old site here in one large post with the rper's names at the top)
FLARE Jason made his way down the streets, careful not to slip on the sidewalk. He wasn't working at the moment, so he decided to go home until he had to work again in a few hours. Pulling his tuque a little lower over his bangs, and readjusting his mittens, continued to walk, avoiding the other people who may have passed by. His dark gaze was somewhat distant, meanwhile his lip ring seemed to be covered in a thing layer of frost that steamed everytime he breathed on it.
NIITARI The last thing Levi had ever planned to do as run into his brother. But who was he kidding really? He was back in Krysos where they both grew up. Returned from Aciapoli where he had spent most of his time in and out of jobs and shrink places trying to clean up his act. He knew it had done him good, but he wasn't sure he had changed enough to deal with this. Jason was the last link to everything that was wrong about Levi, and he knew he had to reconcile with his brother before he could really let go of the past. But this was a little too soon for him. He'd hoped to adjust to Krysos for another week or two before confronting his brother. Not two days after arriving. His bags were hardly unpacked. But there was Jason walking towards him. Great, he thought, what do I do now?
FLARE If in one of the moments one of Jason's random moments where his eyes flickered about he spotted his brother, he gaze no obvious indication. He continued down the streets as if his brother didn't even exist, as if he wasn't even there are the moment. His gloved hands buried themselves into his pockets as he picked up the pace a little subconsciously.
NIITARI "Jason!" he called out, wondering if maybe his brother didn't recognize him. How could he not though? It's not as if all those years had not existed, as much as Levi now wished they didn't. Perhaps Jason was just ignoring him, that was probably the most obvious thing, but Levi wasn't sure he could afford his brother to ignore him now.
FLARE Darian turned to face the other who had been talking to him, his eyes narrowing. He had a rather intent look in his eyes as he studied that face. That face. Darian had a much looser posture than Jason did, and he tugged off the red mittens in disgust. The Tuque was okay for now, the mittens, had to go, and go they did onto the ground. "What do you want?" He asked angrily.
NIITARI He didn't really notice the changes. He was comparing Jason after so many odd years, who knew what all the differences were. He struggled to think of what he wanted to say and how he was going to go about saying it. "I want... to talk," he said lamely.
FLARE "Well we don't always get what we want now do we?" Darian asked reproachfully. He only remembered the faces. Levi's face was not a good face. He didn't know why, he just knew it was not a good face. Turning, Darian continued down the streets. while Jason had been going home for a break, Darian was going to go maybe find somewhere to get a drink.
NIITARI "Jason, I have to talk to you," Levi called after him, running to catch up. "Please," he asked, not quite sure if he was ready to start begging yet. "I know this is... tough... having to see me again, I understand that. But I want to make amends, even if there's no way you can forgive me, I understand that too but I just..." he trailed off, stopping his words from spilling out anymore. He needed to collect them and come up with a better way of expressing what he was trying to get across. But all the thoughts and emotions in his head were impinging his judgement.
FLARE "Bla bla bla bla bla. That's all I just heard." Darian said over his shoulder. "And don't call me Jason that's not my name." He snapped irritatibly. A Shame Levi couldn't have run into Peter, he might've gotten a taste of his own medicine, although that was a thought that none of them would've though because they wouldn't be able to piece it together. Or maybe Sergio would be more inclined to listen, although Darian didn't take to kindly to that one. Oh well, Levi was stuck with him and he had decided he wasn't listening.
NIITARI "A name change. Great. Well, Jason or Darian or whatever you call yourself these days, maybe someday you should listen. I actually want to make a difference. If you keep walking away, you're only going to regret it!"
FLARE A name change? Darian scoffed and he didn't stop walking, only smirking at the other. "I highly doubt I will." Turning, he continued to walk, rounding a corner and leaving the other man behind. Why would he regret walking away from an babbling idiot like that?
NIITARI Levi hissed under his breath, "well, that went well." He tugged the hood of his coat down over his face and walked away, stuffing his hands in his pockets. This wouldn't be the last time he saw Jason, he knew that.
