A small house converted to treat injured Weres that come through. Mostly for dealing with scrapes and the like, the medicine and treatments are old fashioned and mostly out of date. But the people try, and that is what matters.

They brought him in writhing, set him down screaming, tied him down writhing and screaming. If Enethar had been in bad shape when Alice had to leave him, he was worse off now. Something had been gnawing at him. He was feverish and contorted in pain. When the assistant cut off his shirt and jacket to see the wounds, she stopped, bit her lip, and pulled the healer over. "Look." The skin was dark red and swollen, spreading out from the injury and crawling upward along the veins. "It's too far. We can't amputate this..." The healer shook her head. "It's not gangrene though. Just blood poisoning. We can try flushing it from his system." The assistant shook her head. "It's too much. He can't last it." "Well what are we supposed to do then?" the healer asked, her voice venomous, but she would not snap. The assistant bit her lip. "Fine, let's try it then." The healer gave her a curt nod and went to get the instruments.

The black cat entered the little hut, and hid under a table. It watched the Were writhing and screaming, seeing the two women figure out how to try and save him. Such hopeful little things, that don’t know when to give up on a lost cause. Perhaps this hope is something Oma gives them all when they’re born. The cat licked at it’s paw and begun washing it’s face. After that was done it sat neatly, yellow eyes glinting out from beneath the table, tail flickering. “Are you ready to meet your end, Satellite? Free of the pain and the rest of this physical world? I’ll make it easy for you.” Akuji needed this life to balance out the one that Oma brought back. Even though Oma thought the worst of everything regarding death, Akuji didn’t exactly take pleasure in ending lives or taking souls. It was simply a duty that needed to be done, and that was the end of it. To cause pain and suffering was not the spirit’s intention, unless it was against one that truly deserved to have a painful end. Satellite’s weren’t ones that were made to suffer, even though some may have done some less than honorable things in order to protect those that bought them.

The healers were busy in the other room getting the things, talking, looking for some sort of medication or other. They were not exactly ready for this sort of thing. Enethar was having his own problems. The last thing he needed was to hear some voice. He forced his eyes open, squinting at the room, jaw clenched hard enough to make his gums bleed. "What?" "No! No I'm not! Master told me to stay here for her."

“And where is your master now?” The cat strolled out from under the table, seeing that the women had left and gone into another room. Their patient would most likely be dead before they returned to try and heal him. Briefly looking up at the table the Satellite had been placed on, the spirit jumped and landed on the table. Walking up onto the dying Were, the black feline sat down on his chest and stared down at him. “You cannot wait for her to come back for you. You are dying and there’s nothing your master can say to make you stay in this world any longer. Even without my presence, you would most likely die before ever seeing your master again. It is time for you to except that and move on.” Akuji was used to having some argue and refuse to move on, which is why it was quite useful that he was patient and could most of the time. However, the balance needed to be fixed and Akuji wanted it to be corrected sooner rather than later.

Enethar bit back a scream when the cat touched his stomach. Paws so light like gossamer and weight just as, but even that slight touch caused excruciating flares through his whole chest and neck to his brain. "No! I won't die! I can't die! My master told me to! My master told me to stay alive! She ordered me! She ordered me! She ordered me!--" He kept repeating that several times, staring up at the cat with terrified amber eyes.

“That is a ridiculous order. Something a desperate child would demand, really.” That was how some could get when the end was near for someone they loved. They demand, make promises, bargain with some higher being that they most likely do not believe in….and all for the sake of trying to get their dying one to hang on. It was selfish, but that was how most of the living were. The cat’s yellow eyes stared back into the amber eyes of the Satellite. A small part of the spirit pitied the Were. To have been ordered to stay alive when he was currently in so much pain was cruel. “Your master isn’t her to order you, and I am here to take you away. It is time for you to leave.” Standing, the cat stretched and clawed at the Were’s wound. As the claws dug into the wound and chilling numbness accompanied them and seeped into the wound as well, almost immediately relieving the pain caused by the clawing and then progressing to take care of the rest of the pain.

"That's why she needs me more than ever," he insisted, but he could not finish that thought. The claws dug in, and he lost his breath. The pain flashed and died as quick as it came. It was overtaking his senses, the numbness that flooded through him, taking the pain away, taking his soul away. No! "No! Stop it! Please!" He could feel himself slipping, and he was reaching and grasping at anything to keep him grounded. "Let me stay! Please!" He was fighting a battle he probably could not win, but at least he was fighting.

Akuji stepped off of the Satellite, and sat down on the table next to him. “No, you may not remain here.” It wouldn’t take long for the Were to slip away and for the balance to be corrected once more. At least until Oma decided to bring another back to life. The long legged dog pushed the door open and ran into the house. Seeing the cat hovering over Were, it growled. “So you are out to ruin the Draeyva’s, yes? I bring a Draeyva back and you have to go after another one’s Satellite?” Approaching the table slowly, it kept it’s gaze on Akuji. “It makes no difference to me whom this Were serves. He happens to be near death, and that is all that matters to me, Oma. I told you someone would have to take the place of the weredragon.” The cat stood, tail lashing, ears starting to flatten when the dog came closer still. The dog bared it’s fangs, standing by the table. “He is not dead yet, not while I am here.” Before Oma could reach out to snap at the cat, Akuji hissed and after leaping off of the table, landed on top of the dog’s back and sunk it’s claws in. Whimpering, the dog shook, trying to dislodge the cat. White fur begun to stain red, and Oma still couldn’t rid itself of Akuji. Standing up on it’s hind legs, it rested it’s forepaws on the table and licked at the Were’s wounds. The spirit hoped to heal the wound and reverse what Akuji had done. Claws dug into the dogs back and climbed up it’s neck until the hissing feline started to claw at it’s face.

Enethar was in utter panic. He could feel himself being pulled away, but now there was a force holding him back. It was excruciating though he felt no pain. Just the terrifying sense of being pulled apart. Sounds of hissing and tearing rose up around him but he hardly paid attention to that. Everything was as if down a dark tunnel. His focus was on nothing. He could not see, hear, smell, speak, taste, touch, feel. He was alone with his thoughts and these sensations. The pull became fiercer and stronger by the second. He begged the unseen to just choose already as he could not bear it any longer.

Akuji continued to bite and claw and whatever flesh it could get beneath it’s claws and teeth, all the while ignoring the dog’s whining and whimpering. Oma’s vessel would heal shortly enough. Time had to be bought to keep Oma busy for a few moments in order for the spirit of death to reclaim the Satellite, and then go back to ensuring the Were’s supposed savior couldn’t do anything to help him. Digging claws into the dog’s eyes, the cat jumped up off just as the dog tried to close it’s jaws around it. The cat bit into whatever part of the Were it reached first, the Satellite’s left arm in this case, before it stood it’s ground and hissed as the dog came towards the table. “You are interfering with a balance that is bigger and more important than us. You ruin it and I fix your mistakes because you do not have the heart to say good bye and keep it final.” The dog whined, blinking and rubbing it’s eyes with the back of it’s paws. “I am not ruining the balance by bringing back a handful of them a year. Look at how many you take every year! The balance is still kept in order.” Shaking it's head, the wounds on it's back had already healed, and the ones on it's face were just beginning to do so.

The rush was incredible. Everything was ripped away and pulled into the darkness. Enethar rolled off the table and hit the floor hard on his side. Outwardly, he wasn't responding much to anything. Not verbally anyway. On the inside or in a spiritual sense or something of that sort, he was seeing himself being shredded by invisible forces. One white, one black. One dark and seductive and terrifying in its finality, the other bright and cruel but gorgeous. He had no idea which one he wanted or which one he was heading towards, but he just kept praying one side would just take him already.

“It’s not in order if there’s continuous interference!” The cat swatted at the dog until it backed away. “And what you’re doing right now isn’t interference? He wasn’t ready to die at any second but you’re forcing him to die now because that’s what you want.” “You forced me to take his life. I told you I’d take a life to replace the one you brought back.” Black fur stood on end as the cat’s back arched. Oma’s vision cleared and he leaped at Akuji. “What Lorcan has, you can barely call that life, and you know it!” Grabbing the cat up in it’s jaws and shaking it’s head roughly, it stopped suddenly and flung the cat out of the room and out of the house completely.

Then it was done and over. Wherever Enethar was, it was not that place or the real world. It was something new and terrifying and in between, and the last thing he thought before he faded into nothingness was: I'm sorry.

The dog growled and waited, as if to make sure the cat wasn’t about to try entering again. After a few more moments, Oma went over towards the Satellite. Standing over the Were, the dog nudged him and licked his face. Whining, Oma stepped away when there wasn’t any response. It seemed like Akuji got it’s way and won. Ears flattened, the white dog left the house.
