The olde, cobblestone streets. These have been around for countless years, centuries even, possibly way back to the day Rome was a world power. They now make up the streets of the downtown, smoothed by the trillions of feet that marched up and down them before us.

Fino stepped out of the bus depot and pushed the hood of his coat off. It was windy, but not cold. The parka that he'd worn to Krysos was nearing overkill in this weather. He looked back at Deniz. "Ever ben here before?" he asked.

Deniz glanced at Fino, shaking his head slowly. "Never went anywhere else." He took off his jacket, folding it onto his arm. It was windy, but it felt warm to him. "What now?"

"Well, we should find a place to eat. And get better clothes. Where we're going, it'll be warm. All my stuff is for cold weather."

Deniz frowned, nodding. All of his clothing were for cold weather as well. "Sounds good to me," he replied after a moment, deciding he say something. He wasn't quite looking forward to having another meal, still somewhat full from the last one.

Fino was feeling kind of drained after the long train ride, but he wasn't about to complain. He unzipped his jacket and pushed the hood back, letting the wind hit his face and cool him down. "Let's go," he said, heading off down the street. At least he seemed to know where he was going.

Deniz watched Fino carefully. "Do you want me to carry anything for you?" He noted that his master was a bit tired. He himself was restless from the train ride.

He shook his head. "No. I didn't really bring anything with me anyway." He looked back at Deniz. "Come on then. You should become somewhat familiar with the different cities. I don't expect you to know everything after one visit, but be sure to pay attention to what we do pass by."

"Yes, sir," Deniz nodded, keeping up with Fino. He glanced around and took in everything he saw, while still keeping an eye on his master.

Fino walked down the streets. As it was still early, that meant there were not a lot of people up and about. He eventually came to a street vendor and decided to order some food. "I'll take two burgers," he said, digging some money out of his pocket. "You want something?" he asked Deniz.

Deniz looked at Fino, a little wary that he was going to make him eat some more. He shook his head though, looking away from both master and vendor. After a few seconds he glanced back at Fino. "May I ask a question, master?" It had been bugging him in the back of his mind, and figured he might as well try asking now.

Fino wasn't sure if he as declining food for legitimate reasons or more of that 'they starved me' nonsense. Nevertheless, he shrugged and paid for the two burgers for himself. He unwrapped one and took a bite, stepping aside from the stand so the vendor wouldn't hear anything he probably shouldn't. "Ask away."

Deniz followed Fino away from the vendor, frowning and looking down at the ground. Well now that he thought about it, there was more than one question he really wanted to ask his master, but he'll have to settle for just one right now. "Why did you pick me over the others?" It didn't seem like a good choice to him. Not after he heard Fino say he hardly went near water.

"Your strengths and my strengths can help to replace our weaknesses. While you take to land and water, I take to the sky. Plus, you're a mythical one. Mythicals have some sort of spirit mumbo jumbo attached to them which keeps them alive. That could come in handy in the future. Don't know how though. But it will. Plus, you're stronger than the rest. Maybe not this second, but you have a higher potential."

Deniz frowned, nodding along when Fino spoke. The strengths and weaknesses thing made sense to him. He hadn't heard any of that spirit stuff with mythicals, but North Town could have kept them from hearing those sorts of things."What happened to the one before me?" He glanced at Fino, not sure if he was crossing the line by asking this question, but it was the other one he had been wondering.
