Fino stiffened, hesitating a moment, then turned to look at Deniz. There was something of conflict in those usually expressionless eyes. "Some other time," he said finally, his tone rather cold.

Deniz continued to look at Fino, before finally looking away and nodding slowly. It could have been much worse than just a cold tone. More like a beating of some sort, but he was glad it didn't come to that. "What now?"

"Hmm, I'm going to go and stretch my wings for a while. Then we'll head to Thuringar. From there it's a straight shot to Aciapoli."

Deniz nodded, sighing quietly when he glanced up at the sky. He didn't feel comfortable knowing he wouldn't be able to protect his master while he was in the air. There wasn't anything he could do about it.

"And perhaps while we're at it, we could get some training in. I'm curious about your skills." He took another bite of his burger.

"All of my skills? From the other forms as well?" Deniz frowned slightly. He was hungry enough, or exhausted enough for two forms, but swimming shouldn't be a probably if they found a decent place for him to change into orca form.

"Yes and no," he replied. "If you prove to only be skilled in your shifted forms, then buying you was a waste of time. I need to be able to rely on you even when you're human."

Deniz nodded. Made sense to him. There wouldn't have been a point if he were bought and wasn't capable of being relied on in human form. He glanced around the street, deciding to take in as much as he could before he had to leave.

He finished his burgers and tossed the wrappers in a garbage can. "Alright, I know the perfect place. To fly that is. It's called Fledgling's Bluff. But first of course, better clothing. Um... this way." He headed down the street.

"Better clothing?" Deniz asked slowly, following after his master, and glancing down at his own clothes. Why was better clothing needed? What did it matter if his master was going to go flying?

"Like I said, we won't need winter clothing where we're going." He found the store he was looking for. A random little thrift shop. "Here we are. A bit of financial advice for you: never pay full price for temporary things. Clothes fall into that category." He opened the door and headed inside.

It was getting late by the time Fino and Deniz returned to Finaeiro. Fino stuck to the inside of the sidewalks, watching traffic go by, both cars and pedestrians. He hated this city. Not because it was partially crowded or for any aesthetic reason. It was for the memories. The ones that were attached to the buildings, the streets, the sky. Even as he felt the wind rush past him, even that brought back all the times he had flown here in this very sky, riding these currents, up above these buildings. It was here actually –so he stopped- right here where he first crash-landed. He broke both arms on impact and got hit by a bus which shattered his ribs. Great times. He spent about a half year in a hospital. When he got out, he couldn’t fly for months. The pressure kept fracturing his arms again. He looked back at Deniz. “Bus for the airport starts here,” he said, nodding at the bus sign. He pulled his hand out of his pocket to run it through his very short hair. He knew he had enough money in his pocket for two fares. And he already had the tickets. He was sure Deniz would just go along with it. He never had asked him if he cared. Should I? No, that’d be stupid. He’ll handle it whether he likes it or not. He grit his teeth and stared at the road, waiting for the bus to come.

Deniz followed behind his master. He glared at anyone that walked too close to the werehawk, refraining from physically acting out and moving them away from Fino. He didn’t want to make a scene, even though he thought a fight might make himself feel better. He wasn’t the restless sot, unless someone counted being in small spaces. Whenever he was restless in North Town, and not locked in a cage, he would go and have a fight with some other Satellite. That was not an option now. Maybe this was another bound thing? It didn’t look like his master was agitated, but he didn’t expect he’d even find that emotion on the younger were’s face. Deniz glanced at the bus stop, looking back at Fino and nodded slightly. He bit the inside of his cheek, and after shoving his hands into his pockets he fidgeted with a loose thread inside. A bus would be much larger than the cages he had been put in. At least that was a plus. Hopefully there wouldn’t be too many people on the bus. He’d hopefully be alright if there weren’t. “Why Aciapoli, master?” He finally asked quietly. Having some sort of conversation would be better than over thinking the transportation.

A car drove past unnaturally close, but Fino seemed unfazed by the proximity. “Aciapoli is far away,” he said. “Well, not terribly far. But far enough.” Far enough from what? he wondered to himself. He never had an answer for that. Lately it felt like things were closing around him no matter where he went. He had been to two cities in a little more than a day and still there was this shadow following him around. He didn’t believe in them much, but maybe it was spirits’ work. They had come to haunt him. Right. Totally. He scoffed inwardly at the very notion. No spirit would bother petty little Fino Throk. Or would they? Because of his past? Because of the spirits then. Spirits knew everything, so they said, or at least most of everything. Fino grimaced at the idea that there was such a phantom picking at his brain and hovering over his shoulder. He looked back at Deniz. “Any place in particular you wanted to go to?”

Deniz’s heart jumped up into his throat when he saw the approaching car and he leaped in front of Fino, moving away once more when the vehicle drove off. He didn’t think about his master’s lack of reaction, he was the Satellite after all. It was his job to react to these things, not the werehawk’s. He frowned when he looked back at Fino. Why he wanted to go and be far away he didn’t ask. That part wasn’t his business if Fino didn’t add the reason willingly. His eyes widened slightly when he was asked a question, and he opened and closed his mouth a few times. He hadn’t thought he would have been bought any time soon, and he hadn’t given it much thought as to where he’d go. All he had wanted was to leave North Town and not go back. Finally he looked back at his master after staring down the street for a few long moments. “I had only thought of leaving, but I hadn’t given it any thought about where to go afterwards,” he spoke slowly, shrugging his shoulders. He would have had to follow his master anywhere they went, so maybe that was another reason why he never really gave it much thought. “Aciapoli sounds like somewhere I would have thought about going if I had thought of it then.”
