Lorcan nodded, having heard what was being said in the other cell. He glanced up at the shaft in his own cell, before looking back at Kieran, waiting for him to take the lead.

Kieran stood up and walked to the center of the room, looking at the shackles around his wrists. These will be a problem, he thought, then pushed it from his mind. Now was not the time to think too much. The guards seemed to be changing shifts or something, since he couldn't see them. Now was his only chance. He closed his eyes and concentrated. Everything began to shift and warp about him as his body took on a different form. His jaw split and poured blood as he shifted dragon's teeth into his mouth. With one quick snap, he bit through the one shackle on his left wrist as it began to shift and change to help the metal break. Then he shifted the other one, snapping it off as well. Both twisted chunks of metal clattered on the floor. Bones jutted from his back, grew flesh, then scales. Wings sprouted. A tail appeared. Claws extended. His whole body multiplied in size. This was the slow way, but the only way. He needed to work to get the collar off. He shifted his throat and stomach, forming a breath of fire inside. Shoving his face against the glassy floor, he breathed a massive breath of flame. Even though he shut his eyes tight, it still burned, especially over the empty socket. But the collar was loosening. He did it again and again, rubbing the collar against the ground. It creaked and split, and his neck and head caught up with the rest of the shift. Finally a full dragon, he turned to Adrian, bringing his head down so Kieran could climb on to sit on his back.

Adrian crawled away into a corner once Kieran's wings grew out, hoping to give him enough room so he wouldn't have to worry about hurting him by mistake as he changed. He kept looking outside of the cell, checking to make sure the guards weren't coming to check up on them yet. He saw Lorcan was following Kieran's example, though he was much slower at managing to get rid of his restraints. He sighed, and used the bars to get up and onto his foot before he hopped over and leaned against the dragon. He struggled a little to climb up onto Kieran's back, and he panted heavily when he finally made it.

Kieran eyed him with a worried look, then maneuvered his head around the cramped cell to see how Lorcan was getting on. His ears were pricked to pick up any footsteps or other unwanted sounds. Soon enough they would be making a lot of noise.

Adrian patted Kieran slightly, seeing the worried look. "I'm fine," he breathed. Glancing over his shoulder he saw Lorcan finally break off the shackle from around his neck, and now was in full dragon form. He looked away, trying not to let himself get jealous because both of his brothers were capable of flying themselves out.

Kieran growled lowly and then looked up at the vent. Bunching himself up like a coiled spring, he suddenly leaped up, slamming all his weight into the ceiling. There was a loud boom, and the rocks split apart. He dug his claws in and started to dig.

Adrian clung on as tightly as he could when he saw Kieran looking up at the vent. Glancing into the other cell he saw Lorcan was following their older brother's lead again and coiled up before shooting up just like Kieran. He closed his eyes tightly, flinching at the boom, and hearing the digging begin. Even the guards would have heard that.

Kieran shoved his forefoot into the depths of the fissure and pulled down a massive chunk of rock, exposing the air shaft more fully. It led up and up. He couldn't see any sort of light at the end. But sure enough, the guards burst into the prison at the sounds. When they saw what was happening, the ones that could shifted into dragons and blew fire and ice and poison at all three of them.

Adrian opened an eye to see how his brothers were coming along. He frowned, looking down and seeing the guards. He panicked feeling the heat of the flames, the less bothersome chill of the ice, and the poison seeping into his lungs. Coughing, he started to feel light headed, and his felt his grip on his brother was weakening.
Lorcan continued to dig at the rock, determined to get to the air shaft. Even when the guards came in he pushed on, trying to ignore their attack and force his way into the air shaft.

Kieran turned his head around and shot a fireball at the dragons. It passed harmlessly through the bars to knock into the poison dragon. It screeched and flailed around, the smell of burnt metal in the air. The fire one shot another wave of flame at Lorcan. The non-dragon guards had unlocked the doors, and the ice dragon slipped into Kieran's cell, shooting a spike of ice at him. Just a little farther, Kieran thought. Ignoring the dragons completely, he coiled back and slammed his body against the ceiling. A chunk of rock broke loose, and he crawled into the shaft.

The oncoming wave of heat before the flame was unbearable. Lorcan snarled, icy eyes fixed on the fire headed his way. Sucking in a deep breath, he shot out a steady jet of ice to go up against the flame sent his way.
Adrian was still dizzy after the poison dragon's attack. He blinked slowly, shaking his head when he saw the spike of ice heading for Kieran, even as they went into the shaft. He let go of his brother, falling down the shaft and back into the cell. He hit the ice spike, knocking it away, and he landed on top of the ice dragon’s head. Growling, he dug what fingers he had left into the dragon’s eyes.
Lorcan saw something falling from the shaft, and did a double take when he saw it was his look alike. He jumped over the fire dragon and flew out of his cell and into the next. With a screech he pulled Adrian up off of the other ice dragon. Whipping his tail at the other dragon as he flew up into the air shaft, he held Adrian in his mouth still and crawling in after Kieran.

ADRIAN! Kieran shrieked when he felt his brother fall. But the other dragon had fired again, and Kieran had no choice but to focus on defending himself. He opened wide and clapped his jaws around the other dragon's mouth. The ice dragon snarled, lashing his tail fiercely. The dragon shot a blast of ice into Kieran's throat, quenching his fire. Kieran bit down hard as he could and whipped his head away, ripping off a good chunk of the dragon's face. The ice dragon dropped back down, battered away by Lorcan's tail. Kieran shot up the shaft, Lorcan behind him. He slammed through rock after rock, making the tunnel wider and heading closer to the source of the wind.

Adrian panicked once he realized he had been picked up and carried off by the same creature that had started to eat him. He focused on the sound and smell of fresh air, trying to reassure himself that once out of the shaft could go back to Kieran and not be anywhere near Lorcan.

Kieran finally saw it, a pinprick of light. He climbed up faster, twisting around like a corkscrew as he crushed the rock away. The passage was getting narrower and narrower. He shifted his wings away to stop them from getting beaten up any further.

Lorcan continued to climb up after the older Were, dodging falling rocks so they wouldn't hit himself or Adrian. He imagined Kieran wouldn't let him go if he didn't try to prevent Adrian from getting hurt while they were escaping. Either way, he planned on flying away once he was free of this place.
