A long building made of wood, logs, and stone. Sort of a mish-mash, but it is very stable and well insulated. There are no real fees for staying here, only that the people help out with keeping rooms clean and the like. This is for people passing through or if they don't have a house yet. |

That night was the worst night of her life. Alice rarely got any sleep, waking up for awful dreams and crying silently, not wanting to attract the attention of the people again. She didn't want to bug them. Her eyes were irritated and bags began to form under her eyes from the lack of sleep. She stayed on the bed, holding one of the few things she took along, a red dragon stuffed animal she got when she was just a baby. Alice felt ill, she felt awful, dread just swirled around her. She wasn't just a train wreck at the moment. No, she was a train wreck caught in a tornado. After a long time, Alice slowly sat up and adjusted herself a bit, curling around her stuffed dragon and letting out a shaky breath.

That morning, around nine o clock since the people figured she ought to sleep in, the young lady came to her room and knocked on the door. "Miss! I've brought some breakfast if you're hungry. May I come in?" She stood outside holding a tray with two covered plates, a bowl, and a large mug. She looked back down the hall with a sigh before listening at the door for Alice's reply.

Alice heard her, but didn't answer her for the minute. She was probably going to puke it up later since she it was pretty obvious she failed Enethar. But she sighed. "... You may..." She spoke in a shaky voice, not facing the door, but just hugging her stuffed dragon tighter.

The young lady turned the knob and pushed the door opening, sweeping inside and closing it behind her. She walked up to the bed and set the tray down on the table next to it. "Feeling alright? Anything I can get you?"

"... I'm ok right now I think..." Alice said weakly. "... I'm not that hungry..." She tightened her grip around the dragon stuffie more. Finally, she got the courage and asked. "... Have they found him yet...?"

She shook her head. "Not yet. Not that I know of. They last contacted us a few hours ago to say they got to the volcanoes. I'm sure they're on their way back at least." She looked at the window.

Worst case scenario... perhaps there were more abominations and they decided Enethar would make a delicious dinner. Alice began to whimper again. "... It's my fault..." She began again. "It's all my fault he's dead..." Eventually, she buried her face into the stuffed dragon and flopped onto her side. "This would never had happened if I was smarter... But I'm not..." Poor Alice, mentally destroyed at that point. She really did lose her only friend.

The girl looked back at her, and smiled knowingly. "You've never had to wait for someone, have you?" she asked. "Well, besides now I mean." She bit her lip. "I suppose I've had to wait so often that I've merely gotten used to the idea."

Alice looked up at her and blinked. "Wait for someone?" She asked. Alice didn't really want to tell everyone here who she really was unless necessary. She spent her life cooped up in a room because her dad could care less about her existence. She sat up a bit. " What do you mean exactly? Do you have a friend you wait for...?" She trailed off, feeling like she was breaking into someone's personal space.

"I did. Several times," she replied. "Now I do again from time to time when he's away. A part of me is always steeled to the fact that he might never return. It fills me with anticipation and fear, but the thought that he may come back keeps me holding on." She regarded Alice earnestly, though it was hard to tell what she was thinking.

She stared at the girl for a moment, frowning. Poor girl, losing so many friends. No wait, or is it love? Maybe love. But she nodded slowly. "I guess I'm not used to it," She began. "I spent the majority of my life isolated and this is the first time in my entire life I got a friend who really cared about me. And I really cared about him. I mean, he did so much for me, and now that he's gone... I felt like I didn't do anything to thank him. I flew here as fast as I could." Alice sighed and took a deep shaky breath.

"He might still be alive," she said, trying to be encouraging. But if his injuries were so bad they elicited that sort of reaction out of her when she stumbled into the village, then maybe it was worse than she had thought. Maybe he was dead. She decided to change the topic. "Did someone check your back? I saw you were scratched by something."

"What?!" Alice freaked out, she didn't even noticed she was attacked she was so scared and worried for Enethar sake. "I-I was?! Well before he hurt himself, I did get ambushed by some sort of creature that chased us through the Ashlands. But I didn't know it really did attack me." Alice didn't seem all that concerned with her injuries. It was a pretty bad injury but she didn't feel much pain.

"Let me take a look," she said. "I work as assistant to the village doctor." She was a little worried that they hadn't been treated right. It could be problematic if infection set in. She sat on the edge of the bed and looked at Alice's back. There were rips in the shirt, but under that was... nothing. "Man, you got away lucky. I was sure something like this would rip your skin if it could shred your shirt so bad."
